SWERA

Using SWERA Mapr

These maps represent the information in the GIS assessment data, which is available for digital analysis. These maps provide an excellent first look at the energy potential throughout a region. The maps display, in a color-coded format, the magnitude of renewable energy resource in a country or region (generally in power units of watts/m2 or energy units of kilowatt-hours/m2) over a specified time period at any given grid cell.

The maps include a legend that describes the color coding for each resource range. Generally the maps represent climatological annual values; in some cases seasonal and/or monthly maps are also available.

The maps listed below can be downloaded by the user and printed out to provide good-quality hard copy maps of the solar and wind resources for each country or region. These resource maps are available in PDF format.
